The CMA is responsible for the licensing, supervision and regulation of banks operating in and from within Cyprus.
All banks must be licensed by the CMA to conduct banking business in Cyprus. The licensing process involves a thorough assessment of the applicant's business plan, governance structure, capital adequacy, and AML/ATF controls.
